About me

James Watters leads the Research and Development Team at VMware Tanzu, a role he assumed in November 2023 following the company's acquisition of his previous employer, VMWare, where he served as CTO of Modern Application Platforms. Watters was previously SVP of Product and Strategy at Pivotal Software, a subsidiary of Dell Technologies, as well as
VP and General Manager of the Pivotal Cloud Platform Business and VP of Product, and Ecosystem for Cloud Foundry. Prior to these roles, Watters was Director of Ecosystem and Technical Business Development, Cloud Foundry at VMware.
